Common questions
Questions we get asked about limited companies
Answered from a published GOV.UK page wherever a question has a factual answer, with the page linked so you can check it.
Who has to file a company tax return?
GOV.UK puts it like this: your company must file a Company Tax Return if you get a ‘notice to deliver a Company Tax Return’ from HMRC, and you must still send one if you made a loss or have no Corporation Tax to pay.
GOV.UK: company tax returnsIs a company tax return the same as the accounts filed at Companies House?
No. They are two different filings to two different places, and they are usually prepared from the same underlying figures. We do both from one set of records.
